This highly collectible and immaculate Lapid Ceramics pottery vase was found in the depths of an old hoarders home. I wasn't sure what I had found exactly when I saw it but there was something about it that led me to dig it out and give it a big bath. Lots of google deep dives later and I discovered this vase is a mid century gem and highly sought after in the pottery collectors world. The Lapid Ceramics story began in 1943 originally making tiles and sanitary items sinks etc. In 1949 under a new owner an art department opened. almost all painters were women. They would sign their first name on the bottom of the piece, first name only. This little vase was lovingly painted by Hana most likely in the 60's. I have tried to track her down but no luck. I would love to know if she has other works of art somewhere.
It is in beautiful condition. No chips or cracks and a lovely matt finish with the drip lava pattern on two sides.
